Addicting game. Love it. All my thumbs are up for this game. Not just your average word game, you need to think about what tiles you are going to play. You dont necessarily need to have the biggest word to take a lot o of tiles. I play it constantly.

LIVES ARENT COMING BACK it used to be an amazing game until this happened I had to give it 2 stars

This is a great combination of words and strategy. Horrendously addictive, but definitely worth playing. My only complaint is that there are many words in the dictionary it wont accept. It also accepts many words that do not exist in any dictionary. Makes it kind of frustrating at times.

A clever idea implemented well and incredibly playable. That about sums it up. Capitals is a thinking person’s game and will provide you with no end of enjoyment.

I love this game, but with the latest IOS update, I cant start a new game without it crashing. Please fix!!!!

Great game sometimes I dont get notifications when playing certain players. Other than that great job

I enjoy playing this game for the most part, but a few things about it are frustrating. Firstly there are some issues with the built in dictionary. It allows lots of suffixed words that arent in any dictionary, which can be annoying. There also is no information about how to decline game invites or when lives will come back in the app. A bit more thought is needed, and maybe some faqs as well

BUT, I recently lost all my open games. :(

If you were to play capture the flag with a scrabble board game, you’d pretty much end up with Capitals, the latest game by Nimblebit. Sure, they usually dabble in cute pixel art apps, such as the vastly popular Tiny Tower, which is a vertical city building game. But don’t let that deter you from this great word game that is Capitals. This game soft launched in Canada, which is why I was able to enjoy it right now. I’m afraid the rest of the world will have to be patient until May 21st to partake in the frenzy! You essentially need to drive your opponent off the board by spelling words using the given letter tiles on the board. The bigger the words you spell, the more territory you gain, granted that the tiles are touching your current territory. You can flip the enemy’s tiles to turn them into your territory if you spell a word using letters that are adjacent to theirs! And that’s where the game become really fun. It’s no longer a simple word game where spelling the longest word matters at all: it becomes a strategy game where each of your moves is crucial. capitals ios iphone gameplay nimblebit The game itself has a very minimalistic and colourful look that’s very pleasing to the eyes. While there are no ads in the meanwhile, Nimblebit is well known for using ads as a reward for the player, so we will see how this goes after the worldwide launch. I ended up playing a game against one of the founders of Nimblebit, which was pretty exciting. Sadly, I think I lost that round. Why am I not even sure? It’s because I played so many games in the past week that my wins and losses are all a big blur! So that being said, the free options that limits you to 3 lives are definitely not hindering your gameplay. Sure, if you’re a fanatic you could splurge for the Infinite Lives option, but that will set you back $28.99. Yes. Almost $30.00. That wasn’t a typo. Insane right? So aside from their greed, you’d do well to give Capitals a try, it’s truly a fun word game. And for a much more reasonable $3.49, you get to set your own avatar on the board.

Highly addictive and enjoyable word game, which one user described aptly as capture the flag meets scrabble. The free-mium pay scheme is more than fair and doesnt unduly compromise ones ability to try the game for free. My biggest issue with Capitals is that players can leave a game without it counting as a loss (or a win, for the opponent). This leads many to simply leave tough games, thereby inflating the win percentage of bad players while under reporting the number of games won by talented players. Leaving a game should automatically count as a loss, quite obviously. Lets see this fixed!

Capitals is an overall excellent game, involving strategy, language skills and much much more. If there were anyway to improve it, there could be challenges ex., play a 7 letter word, or win three games in a row, when you complete those challenges you could earn a life. I also think you could include some prize if you win a game!

*** update *** Reducing my rating by one for two annoying issues: 1. All of my games in my games list show up as "vs. Waiting" - but other times I can see who I am playing (like in my vs. stats). Not impactful to game play but weird and annoying nonetheless 2. I just had a case where a person left the game - that cost me a life (1 of my 15 lives) and lost me the chance to play that game. You should penalize the person who left the game somehow (maybe lose an extra life or forfeit a second game), but not the person that was abandoned *** /update *** It is generally a fun game, but highly dependent on the skill of your opponent - the variation in skill makes some games rather boring and so I do not see myself bothering with watching videos or paying for lives because I do not know it will be worth it. I have heard that previously you would regain lives over time - that sounds more like what I am looking for - as it stands I will probably stop playing after I have completed the games allowed by my initial life count.

This game is fun, but need another option to gain more games. Dont want to watch a long video to gain one game. Many games get started and then the other opponent isnt playing, so wasted. Price is $6.99 in app purchase to get unlimited games, pricy. So while it is fun, not sure if Ill continue as Ive used up all my games.

This is a fun game filled with strategy and a great challenge for those who have fun wordsmithing!
